Chevron Chic {Hello Teen}

This has been a blast designing this new teen sanctuary for my daughter. I wanted to include her in the design process to ensure she had a space that reflected her personality and style. She didn't enjoy the entire process but she loves her new pad!

We kept the room the same cool blue as before. She chose a fun teal chevron quilt set to adorn her new bed. She wanted to add another pop of color that complimented teal and we thought coral would do the trick.
One of the things my daughter wanted in her room was some pig art. She picked two of her favorite pictures from a calender she received for Christmas. I was going to make some mats for a couple of old frames myself but wasn't happy with my DIY attempt and had to have them made at a local frame shop.
The top pig pic says "Life is far too important to be taken seriously" and the bottom pic says "It's so exhausting being fabulous!"
From this view you can see a set of watercolors she painted in fourth grade. I love looking at my children's artwork and these are a couple of my favorites that she has done. According to her her new curtains are more her style.
We still have a lot of things yet to accomplish. We have to add some shelving to build her a library, make a gallery wall, add another nightstand that has some drawers and create a comfortable sitting for her to practice her violin.
