Thirteen

A week ago my baby turned 13! I am now a mother of a teen, who gave her permission to grow up anyway?! I remember her chubby cheeks and sweet little voice like it was yesterday. She was never a girly girl but rather my techie, gadget lovin sweetheart of a daughter.

I love this girl to pieces!

She has always taken a liken to music. She has learned to play the harmonica and violin. She is quite the violinist! Recently she has taught herself to play the piano, so now I guess we will be signing her up for piano classes.
This is my most favorite picture of her!
I thought it would be fun to tell her birth story since she was born at an unexpected place. The story begins in a small rural town. I was naive to the fact that a person could have back labor. So there I was lying on my side on the couch thinking I was just having horrible back pain and not actually being in labor. After 2 1/2 hours the pain became quite unbearable and I finally called to my family for help.

The contractions quickly became too close to time so the doctor was called and we were told to come on in. The pain was so intense that I couldn't move off the couch and my body started to push. It sounds weird but I wasn't intentionally pushing. My water broke and 911 was called.

As their first call of the day and being right across the street, here the EMS came. They managed to get me in the ambulance and down our dirt road. We were only three minutes up the road when they had to pull over so I could deliver.

Only being in 3 1/2 hours of labor my beautiful baby girl was born in an ambulance in front of a tire shop!

  3. My sweet niece. She is so adorable even all grown up....lol. She is extremely brilliant and very talented. I take a liking to her. I can remember way back when I would sneak and give her oreo cookies just because she was a chubby lil thing and she was crying for them. I love my 1 and only sweet niece.
