This week I will be tackling another closet, the hall closet. This will not be like organizing my side of the master closet although I will still use my 4 simple steps to organize and clean pretty much anything. For new readers here is the breakdown:
- Empty
- Clean
- Sort & Purge
- Organize
The biggest obstacle is the breaker box. Why is there a breaker box in the hall closet? It prevents us from utilizing various storage solutions, like installing shelves or rods for coats, because the breaker box has to accessible.
Moving it is out of the question cause that would involve a certified electrician and a lot of work and a couple thousand dollars. No thank you. So I have come up with a couple solutions that would give us exactly what we need without compromising the breaker box.
I plan to finish our coat closet and share the reveal with you later this week. This is what I want to accomplish over the next few days:
Clean out- Paint it a bright color
- Install a removable hanging rod
- Add shelves to the lower half of the closet
Will you be tackling another closet this week? I will have a few more organization updates this week while I work on my hall closet. Remember to post your pictures on instagram using @chippasunshine and #csletsgetorganized. See ya soon!
I just love your fabulous original doors, so pretty! Adding storage to the lower half is perfect solution! I'm currently plotting how to finish and organize our small hallway linen cabinet, that's one of my main focuses before winter hits
ReplyDeleteKatrina I have a love/hate relationship with my doors. They have a lot of dings and dents, with multiple layers of paint covering them but I do love them! I can't wait to see your hallway linen closet, I remember you posting about it awhile back.
DeleteYou are on a roll!
ReplyDeleteIm with Katrina. Your doors are amazing!! I totally understand the frustration of an awkwardly placed breaker box. Im excited to see your solutions.
