I had an awesomely unexpected talk with a fellow boy scout mom that revealed somethings to me. I am so excited about this. I know I am being vague but things will reveal themselves in due time.

This year marked my second year blogiversary and I shared the meaning behind our name. I loved the comments from that post and found out we aren't the only ones who make up silly little songs to sing to our kids.
Fall brought an organizing series that I will continue in the new year. I have been checking things off my list left and right and can't wait to tackle a few more spots that need some extra special attention.

My daughter had the opportunity to play in an orchestra comprised of the top students in our mid-state. It was a great honor. I still listen to the audio from that concert, it was one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard.
My son started to play the piano and the baritone. That baritone it so heavy to carry. We went to his first concert and they did well! He has grown tremendously in soccer and is a true competitor. He has fallen in love with football so I don't know where this will lead.
My littlest is such a funny character. I often just look at him and wonder where he gets it all from. He was having a hard time with reading and only a handful of people knew. I worried so about how he would keep up in first grade and we landed the perfect teacher whose primary background is in literacy. She has helped him grow leaps and bounds. He is now reading and writing his own stories. Too funny.
One of the things I love about this blog is that I can look back at my old post and see what I have accomplished. Although I didn't blog much this year, there were several projects I had totally forgot I had done.
In no particular order, here are some of my favorite projects this year:
Many of you know I host an annual Easter egg hunt. It has been going strong for three years now. I do one prize egg each year and this year I decided to make it a bit special. I have already started brainstorming next years egg. I also made the cutest chocolaty peep pops to hand out as favors to all the kids that attended.
I learned a lot about growing my garden this year. I share my tips on how to start seeds indoors and how to make your own soil, even though those naughty squirrels ruined my crop.
One of the most used projects, is hands down, the homework/art caddy I made for the kids. They use it every single day. I love the fact that I made it rotate and that it holds a ton of supplies.
My husband doesn't usually have much input in many of my projects, his decision not mine. The area by the front door was one he actually had a few suggestions for. That post was all about how we both compromised on that space and it featured my paint dipped library basket.
The 'Hello Teen' room is still a work in progress. This year we installed a new fun light and I made a mustache pillow for her bed. She is still into mustaches and I have no idea why. But my favorite project for her room was the stenciled roller shade. It adds so much to the space.
This was a fun look back! I will be spending the rest of the week brainstorming the fresh new start of another new year. Have a safe New Years and I will see ya soon!
